Author: D.B. Moone

The following is a short bio to introduce myself to you. I am an English major with a lifelong hunger for writing, which began as soon as I learned the alphabet and my thoughts started traversing from my mind to the pencil I held in hand, dropping words onto the blank piece of paper before me, and moved the words around until they made connections. I have more than 35 years of professional writing experience. I write in several genres, and I currently have three manuscripts I am working on, completing one at a time, of course. To sum me up: I am a writer, blogger, beta reader, editor, book reviewer, veteran, and soon to be an author. I am a member of the Women's National Book Association, National Association of Memoir Writers, a professional book reviewer for NetGalley and various publishers. I do reviews for traditional and indie writers. I began reading and reviewing books to get back into my writing mode after 28 years of military service, as well as to garner name recognition. I read and review [edited] Advanced Reader Copies (ARCs), as well as recently published books. I am a beta reader (finding errors and suggesting improvements), and I provide editing services (message or email me for my editing rates). I read unpublished books by their publication dates, and before reading recently published books. I write my reviews for the reader and not the author; although if you visit my blog www.dbmoone.com (Book Reviews & Musings), you will find that my reviews are very fair to the author. In addition to reading and reviewing, I also conduct author interviews and participate in blog tours. All of my reviews include the author's bio with photo, links to the author's previously written books, author's website, and all social media sites, as well as links to where the author’s books may be purchased. My preferred genres are Biographies, Memoirs, Health, Mind & Body, Historical & Literary Fiction, Mystery & Thrillers, Nonfiction (Adult), Poetry, Politics, and Self-Help, Women’s Fiction, et cetera. If you would like to have me review your book, conduct an author interview, participate in a blog tour, beta read, or provide editing services, please contact me at dbmoone2012@gmail.com. I typically have between five to eight books lined up to read and review, and again, I work by publication date. I invite you to follow my blog: www.dbmoone.com (Book Reviews & Musings) as well as my other social media sites: Twitter (@dbmoone), and Instagram (@dbmoone). Note: Due to the number of commitments I have scheduled for book reviews, interviews and blog tour requests, I will not be accepting requests for additional reviews until October 2019. Sincerely, Donna

Book Review: THE PROCESS OF FRAYING

“This is the very reason that some lives end seemingly early and by their own hands because Mother Nature doesn’t understand that a personage can out-age a body. It is the reason that someone unwell can look so very vibrant on the outside, giving no indication that death lurks around the corner. Souls saturated in sickness, negativity, and ill-thoughts cannot weather the years well.”

This I Know Paperback Release Coming Soon

“Mama says how I was born is how I live, my thoughts racing faster than what I know what to do with them. She claims I came hurling into the world screaming bloody murder as if I were trying to raise the dead. And then she gets a faraway look that feels as if someone has pulled the scenery from the room and you’re left standing in the dark with no walls and no ceiling.”

Book Review: LITTLE LOVELY THINGS

“She only knew she couldn’t risk shutting off the car, having her girls broil in the heat, like a distracted mother at a shopping mall in the newspaper only a week ago.” “They were at peace, protected from the vicious heat with the car running, the cool air circulating.” “Dropping to her knees, Claire flattened one hand on the greasy floor like a kickstand. She couldn’t pass out.”

Book Review: A DIFFERENT KIND OF FIRE

He opened the letter and read aloud. “Dear Miss Schmidt, congratulations on your acceptance to the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts…” He scrubbed his hand across his unshaven chin. “Why’d I build this house if you’re going to leave?”

Book Review: CLOVER BLUE: A Novel

“Who did I come out of?” Harmony stares at me, her big eyes suddenly mirroring my question, the one I’m pretty sure I’m not supposed to ask. Willow glances at Goji. He shakes his head slightly and whispers to Doobie. Doobie takes my hand. “Let’s go for a walk.” – CLOVER BLUE: A Novel
